I think that the reviewers of this fridge are a bit too hard on the product reviews. I agree that the product packaging is terrible and needs improvement, but that doesn't mean that the product itself is bad.
I received this item recently and there were a couple of VERY tiny dents on the side. So tiny, in fact, that I didn't see them at first until I looked at the fridge at a certain angle in the light. Other than that, it was in perfect condition. I subtracted a star because of the poor packaging. There is no styrofoam protection and no space between the outer chrdboard and the fridge itself. I believe this contributes to the damage some people are reporting. For me, however, the damage was negligible.
That issue aside, thie fridge works GREAT! It cooled down quickly and is nearly silent. Compare this to my previous thermoelectric fridge, which had a loud fan running constantly. I have this fridge under my desk in the office and it is great in terms of noise.
This morning, I discovered something new. I heard a loud noise of cans moving around. I discovered that one of the soda cans had frozen solid and the bottom of the can had expanded. Luckily the can itself did not burst. I had the fridge on its maximum setting, but clearly that is too cold. So, now I haveturned it down two notches and we'll see if that works better. So, one could say that the product works TOO WELL. On the maximum setting, it is cold enough to freeze items in the fridge compartment!
All told, I am very happy with this product so far!
